Sydney Maurer  – 2023 SCS Rodeo Queen

Hi, I’m Sydney Maurer and I’m a recent graduate from Northwest University with my Bachelors in Environmental Science.

The Santiam Canyon Stampede Rodeo has always been a part of my life, my entire family has been involved since it started in 1997. I’ve always been down on the grounds helping in some form. Back when the Stampede did their Kids Rodeo the “Small Stuff Stampede” I helped by being Royalty and representing the Stampede as the “Small Stuff Stampede” Queen! As a kid I had no idea it would lead to the title, Miss Santiam Canyon Stampede Queen 2023, but I’m thrilled it has!

I have played softball for a large part of my life, including my college years.  This year my senior year of college, it was no different, I played. It was filled with lots of moments and memories that will last a lifetime. I have been a part of the Northwest University softball team, as a utility player where I pitched, caught and played 3rd base. I earned First team All- Conference for Cascade Collegiate Conference. I also hold Northwest University single season records for batting average (.404), RBI’s (64), doubles (16), total bases (103), relief appearances (14) along with tying the home run record with 8.

As you can see, I’ve gotten to follow my dreams in many areas of my life and I know that wouldn’t be possible without my parents. I can’t thank both my dad (Adam) and mom (Billie) enough for giving me the love and support to follow my dreams.

I want to thank everyone who is helping me out with horses and traveling this year, without all of you, I wouldn’t be able to do this!
I look forward to seeing you this rodeo season! Also look for us in parades locally and out and about. I can’t wait to see you all at the Stampede July 21st and 22nd  in Sublimity Oregon.

On behalf of your 2023 Rodeo Queen, welcome to the 25th annual Santiam Canyon Stampede Rodeo!!!

Let’s rodeo,

Queen Sydney.
